"Blue Beard"
Acrylic paint on canvass
H 60 cm x W 20 cm
It seems Blue Beard was a very good man. He was rich and refined and supposedly a great lover. Maidens in the area desired him, most especially Krotpkia a very mean and ugly woman. She craved for Blue Beard, and in order to avoid other maids in the area, prettier, kinder, better educated, from reaching him, she started spreading the rumour that Blue Beard was a monster that raped, enslaved and finally ate young maidens. She tried all sorts of tricks to reach him, unfruitfully. It seemes that when she got the news that there was a princess, she burnt in jelousy and consumed herself to death. What remaind of her, mostly ashes, was buried near the cementery. The place is easily recognized because nothing grows on her grave.
